Mary, The Center of Peace
What is Peace? In Religious, or better, in a Christian sense, peace is not just the absence of war or disturbances, rather it is this active harmony that comes from true union with God. The World within which we live and the people with whom we live. It is obvious that in Mary, the Mother of God, this active and dynamic harmony is present even while she is still a teenager since she responded to the most wonderful praises ever expressed towards a creature. "Mary, full of grace," "Who am I that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?" With the most spirit filled response recorded of a human Bible. "My Being proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior". This is a complete reception of God's grace and perfect response to God's grace. Hence in Mary, Heaven and Earth become one. Divinity and Humanity become one. Infinity finds harmony and oneness in finitude. Many times people say that it is not fair to be compared with Mary, because she received special graces, special gifts and a special vocation, hence it was easy for her. Well this is true, but it is also true that all who are baptized and all who are practicing Catholics have received, and are continually receiving the same gifts. We Can never receive more than the gift of being born into the very life of The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. We can never receive more then God, himself, as He comes to us in the Eucharist Therefore, the question is how do we respond? How can we become a center of peace one with our Creator? Mary Shows us the way. Scripture tells us that Mary pondered these things in her heart, we can do the same We can take some time aside to be still and quiet in order to pray. We need to pray with our heart mind and whole being. Once we truly pray, it will deepen and strengthen our Faith. Faith will lead us to experience God, and once we become one with God, we become one with His self-giving, never-ending, unconditional and merciful love. Once we become one with God, then there will be His peace, an active peace that goes beyond understanding. As the Apostles gathered around Mary to prepare for the coming of the Holy Spirit they fasted and prayed for nine days. Because they sacrificed, something happened when the Holy Spirit came into their lives After they had received the Holy Spirit, they came together in prayer and breaking of the bread daily. They were now one heart and one soul. they had everything in common. When do we find this faith leads us to God, His Love and His Peace? Only when we leave all creatures and detach ourselves from everything, do we bind ourselves to God. Then there will be God's Love and Peace and total participation in our most merciful Creator. Say "KOINONIA." Next time we will speak about this total participation in God. Signed a humble little servant
